The Pacific cedar tree grows on a private farm in Indonesia. After curing, the stump and roots are dug up and carved by skilled Indonesian craftsmen into bowls, baskest and trays. The handles of the baskets are made from a root that has grown from one side of the stump and reattached to the opposite side. The stumps without this type of root are used to create bowls and trays. Each basket is unique in structure texture and natural imperfections of the wood.
